As one who lives near Anna Maria Island and spends most of his time on the island, I am familiar with the hum of tourists all looking to get the most out of their vacation.
And while perusing the shops on Pine Avenue, waiting in line at the Donut Experiment, or lounging on the beach at Bean Point are all 'must-do's', you really do miss out on the feel of island life if you don't get out on the water.

There's not many other places on earth that allow you to relax on a sandbar for part of the day, sipping on mojitos and having dolphins follow in your wake, and then spending the afternoon or evening enjoying the sunset while wrangling in a shark to end the day.
