AMI Fishing Report: May/June 2025

Megalops Atlanticus, or more commonly known as the tarpon, has finally arrived. These fish migrate over 1,000 miles every year and have been doing it for the last 125 million years. Lucky for us, they make a stop in Tampa Bay and when they do, they're hungry! Capt. Michael and Capt. Blake have been on them! Consistently boating 100+ lb. fish! If you're looking for the fish of a lifetime, and you're willing to work for it, book a Tarpon trip today!

Our inshore bite is following the same patterns as our weather... HOT! Snook are feeding aggressively in shallow water, often coming close enough for us to watch them take the bait. Reds are still slurping greenbacks on the flats and in the mangroves, giving our clients a great fight (and a great meal for dinner too!). Speckled trout have been plentiful, with 5 man limit trips being the norm.

If fishing doesn't suit your fancy, you'll be happy to hear that the manatee are everywhere around the island. Often sitting shallow early in the morning, and cruising seagrass flats later in the day. Plenty of dolphins and sea turtles cruising around as well if you keep your eyes peeled!

Thanks for reading and tight lines!

Capt Will
