Anna Maria Island Kayak Fishing Report: November 2020

There’s something unique and special about fishing in Southwest Florida (especially around Anna Maria Island). There's something even more special and unique about doing so from a kayak. The breeze creates a paradoxical cooling sensation while sitting in the warm Florida sun. The water glistens and the air is fresh. It’s an experience like none other.

Last Saturday, I took some clients out to fish the flats off of Anna Maria Island and

the trout bite was hot. We started hooking up almost instantly and the bite was consistent for a solid 45 minutes before we decided to move on to explore new areas and seek different species. We continued to catch more trout, as well as ladyfish, and flounder. There were even some opportunities for sightseeing with birds diving around us, mullet jumping out of the water, and giant stingrays

swimming beneath our kayaks. We ended our trip Saturday with some bonus trout

as we paddled our way back to the launch point, trolling our lines behind us.

Being out on the water is fun, but kayak fishing brings to life a whole new side to experiencing

life on the water. If this sounds like fun to you, reach out to book a kayak trip and get in on the

action yourself!

Tight lines!
